Wish to know when you have actually conceived? Use the calculator below:
But first, let us show you how we arrive at the date.
1. If you know the due date of delivery (EDD): The due date that doctors determine for pregnancies is based on the presumption that length of pregnancy from conception is 266 days. It does not matter when actual birth occured. Therefore we can calculate conception date by subtracting 266 days from the due date.
2. If the first day of the last menstrual period is known, conception is assumed to have happened on average 14 days after that day. So we add 14 days to the first day of last menstrual period.
3. If gestation age (age of foetus) is known in weeks and days, doctors calculate it from first day of the last period. So we subtract from date when gestation age was known, the age of the foetus in number of weeks and days.
Take the first day of last menstrual period. Then we add 14 days to get the conception date. Example: I remember that at birth, baby was 39 weeks and 4 days gestation age. Or, on September 10th my doctor told me my fetus was 10 weeks and 5 days.
